I’m a huge fan of affiliate marketing—huge. Especially when it comes to writing blog posts reviewing my fave tools and products that I’m already using (so might as well get the most out of ‘em, right?).
One thing led to another, which led to the creation of The Review Blog Post Kit…a kit designed to help you write product and tool reviews that actually rank on Google.
The goal is to earn income as passively as possible, and review posts that rank does just that. You don’t have a product to create or a service to deliver, just the link to click. And when it’s on Google, you may have to write the post, but Google drives allll the traffic for you (meaning no marketing, either).
But this isn’t about the kit, it’s about Sarah Burk (a Pinterest Expert and experienced blogger in her own right), who snagged the kit and turned her $47 investment into an additional $1K in earnings….
And that’s only as of right now—that doesn’t include any NEW sign-ups thanks to her post + link. Before you don’t believe me, here’s the receipts (and the story):
Here’s the thing: Sarah’s only written ONE review blog post thanks to the kit (she’s been a bit busy for others).
The review? Flodesk.
You can read her full Flodesk review here (or watch the lil gif below):
She snagged the Review Blog Post Kit in November of 2024 when I did a little sneaky deal offering done-for-you keyword research for one affiliate link of choice (which she, of course, chose Flodesk).
She followed the kit to the tee and even put in the extra effort with screenshots, gifs, and her own personal thoughts (which is actually a thing you shouldn’t skip, ever). Which led to her awesome asf results:
Time for the receipts.
For three months, she saw some growth (which is pretty usual for SEO). TBH, the results were really good—especially considering who had the top spots. Still, she a handful of clicks (106), a good bit of impressions (15.9K), and a decent average position (11.7):
Now that the post has been live for approximately 6 months, she’s seen significant growth AND she’s made back her investment (and makes more than it monthly thanks to Flodesk’s Partner program and recurring earnings).
Here current Search Console shows she’s nearly doubled her traffic from the last check-in and she’s ranking for all the right keywords:
As a bonus win, Sarah’s post is beginning to outperform Jenna Kutcher’s Flodesk Review for some searches.
^^which matters because both are in the Pinterest space where Jenna currently has a lot of top-ranking posts for Pinterest-specific keyword searches.
When a competitor starts outranking for some keywords (even if it’s a Flodesk Review), Google (and other search engines) will start to take the person climbing in rankings (in this case, Sarah) as another expert in the space and trust her other Pinterest-specific content more, too.
Pssttt….this is why competitor research is such an important element in both the Mini and Full SEO Audit and Optimization!!
Soooo…about that $1K. That’s thanks to the people who have purchased a Flodesk subscription this year (2025) and her expected earnings if no one else signs up (and who knows, she might have already had new referrals since writing this post) and they stay subscribed for the rest of the year—and there’s less than 5 months left 😉
She’s definitely gotten her ROI (and then some). But as long as the blog post keeps performing, she has even more opportunity for it to make her a little extra $$$.
Using a blog post to review your tools, products, and even programs, add your affiliate link, and get it to rank on Google is one of the most passive-as-possible methods of earning income (and one of my favorites—practice what you preach, right?).
And before we end on that note, here’s what Sarah had to say about the kit:
“I’ve got a list of affiliate blogs to write a mile long, and Mckayla made it SO easy to get it done (and done well)! I wasn’t expecting much beyond covering my bases, but after 3 months, the post is one of my top traffic drivers and getting a ton of clicks!”
