Pinterest is the backbone of my business and what allows me to take time off to spend time with my family without compromising my income. Honestly, it does more things for my business than I do on a daily – especially when it comes to marketing.
Since Pinterest doesn’t blacklist you if you’re not engaging constantly or if you miss a day or two of pinning AND your content can stick around for weeks, months, and even years, it makes it the perfect platform for long-term sales, lead, and traffic generation – all without you lifting a finger.
? HEADS UP: If you’re just getting started on Pinterest, I highly suggest checking out my free Pinterest Starter checklist that takes you step by step through setting up and optimizing your Pinterest account to start pinning successfully! You can download it here.

Email marketing is one of the best ways to generate consistent income for your business, but how exactly to you attract email subscribers? Easy, add it to your Pinterest!
Pinterest is one of the best marketing platforms in terms of getting (and staying) in front of your target audience since it’s a visual search engine. As a business owner, it’s your duty to take advantage of that and start generating new email subscribers on auto-pilot.
To do this I suggest investing some time into creating a hella-good lead magnet, creating a landing page, and 3-5 new pins to pin to relevant boards. Try and add a strong CTA – these are the kind of pins you want to go VIRAL ?
NOTE: You’ll need to pay for the full version of an email marketing service for your pin to get the BEST distribution. Full-page forms through email marketing services do not have your actual URL versus embedding a form on your website. I highly recommend using either Flodesk or Kartra.
How do you start getting conversions and building brand awareness? By increasing your website traffic. Not every pin needs to have a goal of selling or attracting a new lead, sometimes it’s just about introducing your site and services to them.
Pinning different content types is the easiest way to increase your site traffic and brand awareness. I always suggest pinning your podcast episodes, your Youtube videos, blog posts, and more. Although website traffic is generally better for bloggers interested in placement ads for their website, it helps business owners start getting in front of an audience.
I like to call brand awareness & site traffic pins “pretty pins” – they don’t necessarily have a CTA but are highly pinnable, such as inspirational quotes, infographics, aesthetically pleasing photos or moodboards, and similar content.
Pinterest isn’t just a place to pin information or content relating to your business, but a place to show the WHY behind your business. Create pins linking and showcasing the reason you started your business – are you a digital nomad that wants to travel the world without the constraints of a 9 to 5? Or maybe a busy mom wanting to spend more time with your kids? Mix a little bit of personality in with a little bit of info about the services you offer.
Don’t forget to create pins showcasing your testimonials or even creating a client case study as an idea pin.
This one can get a bit tricky as you figure out what messaging works, which services perform best on Pinterest, and what services you plan to offer for a long time – you’ll also want to make sure you have a good workflow set up to make sure you’re not getting spam leads or leads that don’t actually understand what you do.
I’m all about using Pinterest to sell your digital products – I mean, in a weekend alone I can make $500+ from my $27 product 30 Day Pinterest Content Kit. Add in smaller ebooks with tripwires, courses, webinars, etc and you can earn a full-time income JUST from digital products on Pinterest after a few viral pins!
Although low-ticket offers (think $7-$47) perform best for straight-out sales through the platform, high-ticket offers can be added for occasional purchases from long-time followers!
There’s a bit of a recipe for this one and if you’re new to Pinterest I highly suggest using my Pinterest Content Kit to grow your account so that you can ACTUALLY make sales – just pinning won’t help your marketing plan, you need a strategy!

Is Instagram your highest-converting platform? Here’s a cool tip to increase your following and engagement! Pinterest has this amazing feature where you can claim your Instagram account and pin your Instagram content to Pinterest and get FULL credit for it!
There are a few ways to do this – mine is by simply taking the content I create on my Instagram account @commamama.co and pinning straight to Pinterest through Tailwind, but you can also create pins for your content and link to the corresponding Instagram post.
Of course, you can actually integrate both into your Pinterest strategy depending on how much content you have for pinning and how much time you have for graphics.
Even if you’re not planning on using your Instagram content in your Pinterest strategy, you should still claim your account when you set up your business Pinterest account.
There are two main ways that you can use to grow your business using Pinterest:
? DIY your marketing with The Pinterest Content Kit
? Get started with Pinterest Management and have a customized, hands-off, Pinterest marketing experience ?
