07 Tools for Service Providers

March 18, 2021

As a service provider, there are tools (both programs and resources) that we can use to grow our online businesses. This may involve improving our brand visibility through strategic marketing, keeping our client workflows clear, and even managing our own content and content plan. These tools for online businesses are how service providers are able to manage growth and expand.

Keep in mind that not every online business tool is going to work for every online business. In fact, it took me almost three years – and testing nearly every system out there – to establish a workflow I liked, using the systems I love. Your ability to invest in certain tools may vary as well depending on your budget, which may change your decision based on your business structure or goals.

Heads up: I use affiliate links for my fave products. If you click and purchase, I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Check out my full disclosure and privacy policy here.

#1. Moz Pro, SEO Software

Moz Pro is an SEO tool that I use for myself and my clients when planning, researching, and creating content. Moz is a large-scale SEO tool equipped with the ability to do competitor research, check/inspect URLs, look up and create keyword lists, conduct a site audit, and more. Before Moz, I used a mixture of Keysearch.co, a free online keyword researching tool along with Google to research content ideas.

Moz is the most expensive tool that I utilize for my online business, although it’s also my most used tool. For their Pro subscription, Moz is $99 + tax per month with the option to pay yearly for a discount.

#2. Dubsado, Client Managment

Dubsado is a tool that handles your client onboarding, client off-boarding, project management, and more. It’s the perfect tool for online businesses that work with 1:1 clients – such as marketing, copywriting, and design. With embeddable contact/lead forms, automated systems, and the ability to design your own pages, Dubsado has truly become one of my personal favorite client management tools.

I signed up for Dubsado almost 4 years ago, meaning I’m a member of their legacy program. Their new offers include two levels of project/client management: Starter at $200 per year, & Premier at $400 per year.

#3. Canva, Graphic Design

Canva Pro is the second tool I use the most in my online business. Right behind Moz Pro, Canva is a tool that I use daily for both my blog and Pinterest clients. Canva has thousands of fonts, elements, templates, and more for you to utilize for your content. Plus, you’re able to quickly create and share (or sell) templates for Pinterest, IG, Ebooks, and everything in between.

Canva helps me sell digital products such as my Pinterest templates, along with just making my life easier as a Pinterest Manager. Canva offers both a free and paid tier for their platform.

#4. Flodesk, Email Marketing

I have other options to create better workflows than what Flodesk can handle, but I’m not quite able to give up how easy their platform is to use just yet! I use Flodesk for all my email needs like delivering freebies or adding sign-up forms to my site.

Plus, I’m able to manage sending emails for both of my sites rather than just this one!

#5. Tailwind, Pinterest Scheduler

Personally, I don’t know where I would be without Tailwind. Tailwind is the Pinterest scheduler that I use for myself and my clients. You can also make posts to Instagram and create a ‘linktree’ type smart.bio to use as your website link on your Instagram page!

#6. Pixistock, Stock Photos and Templates

If you’re wondering where I find my gorgeous pin images or website images, I’ll let you in on my secret – I have a recurring subscription to Pixistock! Since they do images for multiple niches (business, marketing, motherhood, household, and more), it was the best option for me so that I can use it for my mom blog AND my business website!

#7. Trello, Project Managment

I have tried Asana, Click-up, and others but none of them seem to stick with me like Trello! I actually dropped it for a while, but returned back to it after I started taking my social media seriously and started planning out what type of content I would like to post! And I needed a spot to keep all my client information and easy access to links!

If you need any help setting up your business systems (or trying to figure out where the heck to start), feel free to reach out to me! I’m a sucker for a good business backend organizing.
